The activities in which the children's little theatre are engaged,
are a move in the right direction. They help in bringing children together
irrespective of caste, creed or colour, and besides, providing children the much
needed mirth and joy in their lives. Here is the wider and what I consider to be
a more important aspect of the matter, is that, such activities are bound to
contribute, as these children grow up, in the building up of healthy harmonious
and useful citizen.

I am happy to learn that a children's little theatre is being
organised in Calcutta. I wish it all success and I hope that it will bring joy
to the children and perhaps make their elders realise how much wisdom there is
in a child.
Jawaharlal Nehru, Prime Minister, India

It is notable venture, which i trust will be continued and
extended. Two things struck us specially-first the way in which children so
obviously enjoyed their dances even when they were long and elaborate, and
secondly the remarkable talent revealed by a number of children. I suggest that
the children's little theatre be bought to the notice of UNESCO through the
agency of the india national commission for UNESCO, with a view to UNESCO
encouraging this venture and promoting similar ventures in other countries.

I am glad to know that the children's little theatre, Calcutta,
will celebrate its silver jubilee in December, 1975. On this happy occasion I
offer my congratulations to all those associated with the institution and send
my best wishes for the success of the celebration.
F.A. Ahmed, President of India |
A child's world is full of wonder in which fantasy and reality
intermingle. Participation in creative activities gives an outlet to the child's
self expression and helps to develop a fuller personality.
The children's little theatre has built a movement for cultural activities by
children and for children. My good wishes for them on their silver jubilee
celebration.
Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister, India

The children's little theatre is a favorite of mine. As chairman
of the Sangeet Natak Akademi i have come across many organisations with similar
Objectives, but there is none which i hold in greater esteem and affection.
It has been a fruitful and exciting quarter century for the CLT. I have no doubt
that the coming decades will be even more fruitful and exhilarating, because
perfection is the watchword of the CLT and the nearer one approaches perfection
the more exciting it becomes.
